I really appreciate you taking the time to see what I’ve been up to.

I was born and raised in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs and first moved to Japan back in 2018. Since then, I’ve tried to experience as much as possible, from teaching at a countryside high school to working in sushi restaurant kitchens and plenty of things in between.

Along the way, I’ve met a lot of memorable people and found myself in places and moments I never could have imagined when I first arrived. Through writing and photography, I try to capture a little bit of those experiences and share the stories that stay with me.

This website is a collection of those memories, along with other thoughts, photos, and writings gathered over the years. Some are more polished than others, but all of them mean something to me in one way or another.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned through all of this, it’s that life feels a little richer when you choose to romanticize the everyday things.
